Amandus Jägerhaus homepage: forest hero with the headline 'Vorne die Altstadt. Hinten die Alb.'

The brief

A single holiday apartment in a 15th-century half-timbered house in the old town of Bad Urach. The site has to feel like the house itself warm, weathered, full of character and welcome guests from anywhere as naturally as the neighbour next door.

A house you can feel

Craft

The design carries the character of the house forward: a Garamond serif (Cormorant) for the big notes, Inter for the text, a palette of forest green, brass and cream. The page reads like a walk through chapters large, restrained numerals, duotone photography with a fine grain, a house outline that draws itself as you scroll, and a custom lightbox gallery. Every motion honours prefers-reduced-motion.

Everything they need to hand in six languages

For guests

On a phone, guests get exactly two things with no detour: a curated guide to the area from the Urach waterfall to the spa and frictionless contact by email, WhatsApp or Airbnb. No form, no hurdle. And the language switcher is always in reach: the site speaks six languages German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Arabic each fully translated, Arabic in true right-to-left with a mirrored layout. Search engines get clean hreflang alternates for every language.

Live availability, on a static site

Under the hood

The site is fully static and still shows free dates in real time. At build it reads the house's real Airbnb calendar and renders twelve months of availability; a daily job rebuilds the site so the calendar stays current no server, no database. On top: no cookies, no trackers, no map embed and a small CMS the owners use to maintain all six languages themselves.
